The floor cutter FS600 at the Karl Carstens bridge
The performance of the new EDT EURODIMA floor cutter at the bridge construction site was impressive.
After more than 35 years in use, the Karl Carstens bridge (also Werder bridge) in Bremen had to be renovated. The road construction office of Bremen awarded the contract for removing the old concrete covering to Eurovia. Thus, panels of 200x180 cm size had to be cut for removal. As the bridge had a length of 600 m, and CBS, the subcontractor from Recklinghausen, has calculated only two days for that task, a high-performance floor cutter was required.
Our partner ADT Anhenn Diamant Technik, also based in Recklinghausen, recommended the new floor cutter FS600, produced by EDT EURODIMA GMBH, which has 58 kW power. 180 mm cutting depth at 12 mm reinforcements every 20 cm during the first cut - the FS600 had a walk-over with these circumstances. Mr. Hartmann (CBS) was thrilled by the high performance and the expedient operability of his new machine. With a 600 mm cured concrete saw blade, type AB72X10C30600-44, equipped with 4.4 mm segments, the FS600 made impressive 102 m cutting length per hour, at 180 mm cutting depth! This equals a cutting rate of 3060 cm²/min!
These performance characteristics make the big floor cutter from EDT EURODIMA the appropriate machine for heavy-duty cutting at the construction site.
