FS600 and DURAMANT - the high performance package in Linz!

Combined with the new DURAMANT segments, the maoeuvrable floor cutter shows extraordinary achievements.

For a construction project at the “Kompaktschere” (compact scissors) division at the voestalpine in Linz/Austria, the leading group for sophisticated steel solutions, the principal Swietelsky Baugesellschaft had to allocate the preparation work for the cable laying. DIMAS Linz, an EDT EURODIMA customer, was assigned with the cutting work.

For that job, the floor had to be cut and the thereby excavated concrete parts were to be mortised by a digger. The cutting lengths were 35 m each, with approx. 0.5 m depth. Total cutting included 16 cuts with 0.5 m width and 8 cuts with 0.25 m width. A mere 8 working days were the challenging time frame. Due to these circumstances, the customer decided to employ the big, manoeuvrable floor cutter FS600. For the professional support of the DIMAS Linz workers, the EDT EURODIMA application engineer was on site.

The job was completed on time despite the short time frame. The total cut surface was 122.74 m² and the steel cross section 7,325.8 cm². These cutting results were made possible by employing the EDT EURODIMA cured concrete saw blades with the new DURAMANT® segments, type FC75 – C5. The blades in use had ø 600 mm with segment width 5.0 mm, 800 mm with 4.7 mm, 1000 mm with 4.4 mm and 1200 mm with 4.1 mm.

The customer was highly satisfied. Both cutting speed and tool life convinced him once again of the machine and tool quality of EDT EURODIMA, in particular of the innovative DURAMANT® segments. The cutting characteristics were impressive. Combined with the simple handling of the FS600 floor cutter – for instance, changing the blades does not require more tools than a small cordless impact wrench – the performance package of EDT EURODIMA proved once more to be a first-class professional selection.
