Salty deposit: cutting into concrete

Reliable material for secure cuts

In the road maintenance area of Bad Aussee in Styria/Austria, the salt hall had to be renovated. As the concrete was exposed to the road salt for a long period, cracks and rust have developed at the armouring irons.

The roof beam to be renovated was 12 m long and 50 cm wide at 45 tons weight. The cut surface was 1.7 m long and 50 cm wide. The slot had to be cut to serve as a thrust bearing for the new gluelam trusses, in order to set up a wooden roof.

To fulfill the tasks in a reliable manner, the construction manager decided to employ the powerful high frequency wall saw tornado SB320 as well as the wire sawing appliance WB6. In order to cut the material fast and accurately, the concrete sawing experts chose the diamond wire DS40FBLUE as well as crimping sleeves and the patented quick wire connectors .

The reliable and high-performing machines and the well-cutting diamond tools were critical for the fast and solid completion of the cutting tasks – the contractor was highly satisfied!
