braxx' trip to Panama
Cutting in Panama: Hydropower and showroom - reliable as usual.
At the border of Panama and Costa Rica, the hydropower plant Gualaca is built by a Brasilian construction company. There, our wall saws were used to insert a water stop into two supply tunnels of the turbines. The concrete sawing experts used wall saw blades with 800 mm diameter in order to cut 180 running meters of joints. The required overhead cuts were very complex, however, the braxx wall saw is made for quick moving and resetting, and thus perfect for the task.
The saw braxx tornado SB321 fulfilled another task in Panama city, where the supermarket Machetazo was reconstructed. In future, the new metro will pass by, and the managers decided to build a new, bigger show room, covering two floors. During the reconstruction, the supermarket had to stay in business, so only concrete cutting was possible as it produces hardly any noise and vibrations. Here, 800 m wall saw blades were employed to cut the 78 m². The 260 tons of concrete were cut into 2.5 ton pieces and taken down to the ground floor with a hoist.
The customer was highly satisfied and impressed by the very clean and quiet method. Furthermore, no customer complaints were recorded during the reconstrution phase.
The high frequency wall saws tornado SB320/321 with the control units BC320 proved to be the reliable and strong partners of our Swiss customer’s concrete sawing experts.
