In the hospital "Saale Unstrut Klinikum", the typhoon has the solution.

The state-of-the-art EDT EURODIMA high frequency saws are preferentially used for tricky concrete cutting jobs. The hospital “Saale Unstrut Klinikum” in Naumburg / Germany, featuring ten clinics, gets a new accident and emergency unit. At that site, the wall saw sb200 typhoon served well.

The principal Naumberger Baugesellschaft has commissioned an EDT EURODIMA customer with the concrete cutting and drilling. After inserting the concrete floor, the principal noticed that in the corridor, the joists extended into the actual ceiling height by 10 cm. This would mean to discontinue the ceiling lining in each lintel. To avoid that, the prinicpal decided to shorten the exceeding 10 cm of the joists.

So, the job was to cut off the 10 cm slices from the joist on three spots. The dimensions were 30 cm width at 2.80 m length. As usual for joists, the concrete was heavily armed: Two ø 18 mm length iron on total length and in a 5 cm distance a 16 mm round bar on each side.

For these tasks, the user chose to employ an sb200 typhoon, the „small“ high frequency wall saw from the modular EDT EURODIMA product range, with 20 kW power and cutting speed from 2 to 60 m/sec. For realising the optimal cutting performance, the EDT EURODIMA customer adviser recommended to use the newly developed DURAMANT® segment line. This innovative diamond segment consists of a novel bonding that retains the diamond in the segment for a longer time! Higher cutting speed at longer tool life are the unbeatable advantages of the DURAMANT® segment. A diamond saw blade with ø 800 mm and segment type WS15 was the recommended and deployed tool.

Mounting the guide rail brackets was the next challenge: Plugging was possible only on the right and left side of the passageway. The bracket was fixed to the joist on the joint of the 2.30 to the 1.30 m guide rail by means of an angle bracket. Thus, that problem was resolved quickly through EDT EURODIMAs highly stability in machine construction and in material quality.

Within 20 minutes cutting time, this job was done. The EDT EURODIMA sb200 typhoon completed the comprehensive assignments as well as the small tasks swiftly and reliably. The customer was very satisfied with the characteristics of the sb200 typhoon and expressed his enthusiasm about the new DURAMANT® segments.
